NASA forecasts this winter will see some of the strongest Northern Lights activity in 50 years. To see them at their best, you need to be above the Arctic Circle, far from artificial light and have plenty of darkness. A Hurtigruten voyage provides the best chance to experience this breathtaking phenomenon.

During November and December, northern Norway has some of its shortest days and longest nights - an ideal time for spotting the Northern Lights.
