With the popularity of BBC's "Frozen Planet" series, our Spitsbergen sailings for 2012 have been doing so well that we now do not have very much to sell on the original ship MS Fram.

We have therefore created some new sailings on MS Nordstjernen which run from the end of May to the middle of August.

The MS Nordstjernen will make an exciting return to Spitsbergen on a series of fascinating and enlightening voyages. Spitsbergen is the crown of Arctic Norway, a land forged by wind, ocean ice and snow. Ruling over this fragile and frozen Kingdom is the region's top predator, the peerless Lord of the Arctic, the magnificent Polar Bear.

With its location on the edge of the ever frozen Arctic Ocean, where the warm currents of the gulf stream meet the cold air and water from the North, Spitsbergen and the other islands of the Svalbard Archipelago have become a biological hot spot.
